Uridine 5’-diphosphate-13C,15N2 is a nucleotide that is synthesized from uridine 5’-triphosphate and 2,3,5,6-tetrabromo-4-(trimethylammonium)benzene dibromide. It has been used in the study of human colorectal carcinoma cells (Caco-2) and chronic bronchitis. Uridine 5’-diphosphate-13C,15N2 has been shown to be an effective molecule for studying polymerase chain reactions (PCRs). It also serves as a precursor for the synthesis of protocatechuic acid. The gene product that encodes this nucleotide is called UTP1.
