2-Nitro-4-chlorodiphenyl ether (2NCPE) is a catalyst that can be used in the recycling of hydrazine. It has been researched as a possible replacement for lead scavengers in the catalytic conversion of nitriles to isocyanates and amines. 2NCPE is also used in the preparation of dyes, pharmaceuticals, and other organic compounds.
