Primeverin is a medicine that belongs to the group of flavonol glycosides. It has been shown to have anti-cancer effects in vitro and in vivo, as well as the ability to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. Primeverin also inhibits the synthesis of fatty acids, which may be due to its terpene content. The saponins present in Primeverin are thought to be responsible for its bioactive properties. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of enzymes such as zingibroside R1 and chromatographic method using zingibroside R1. The chromatographic method used zingibroside R1 as a marker compound, which is thought to be responsible for Primeverin's anti-inflammatory properties.
