1H-Isochromen-1-one is a heterocyclic compound and a member of the isocoumarin family. It has been found to have biological properties such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anticancer effects. 1H-Isochromen-1-one inhibits the activity of a number of enzymes including cyclooxygenases, lipoxygenases, and proteases. 1H-Isochromen-1-one also inhibits the growth of cancer cells by interfering with DNA synthesis. 1H-Isochromen-1-one has also been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα) and interleukin 6 (IL6).
