Methyl 3-(2-nitrophenyl)acrylate is a nitroarene, which is a class of compounds that are known to have cytotoxic effects. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of lung cancer cells in vitro by binding to and blocking the activity of tyrosine kinases. Methyl 3-(2-nitrophenyl)acrylate also inhibits inflammation-induced pain in mice and has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of tumor growth in murine leukemia cells. Methyl 3-(2-nitrophenyl)acrylate has low toxicity and can be administered orally or intravenously.
