Descrizione:
Propyl hexanoate is a fatty acid that is used as an industrial solvent. It is also used in the production of polymers and plastics, and has been shown to have some activity against infectious diseases. Propyl hexanoate is synthesized by reacting propylene with acetic acid in the presence of a catalyst. A mixture of propylene and acetic acid at a temperature of around 60°C yields mainly propyl hexanoate, while higher temperatures produce more butyl octanoate.
