2-Vinylquinoline is a type of quinoline derivative that is soluble in an acidic environment. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of NS3 protease and soybean trypsin. 2-Vinylquinoline is used in pharmaceutical preparations as a solvent for amines, which are usually difficult to dissolve in water because they have high boiling points. This compound also reacts with uv absorbers and other chemicals to form reaction products, such as polymeric matrices, glycol ethers, and particle formation. 2-Vinylquinoline is found in fatty acid esters and glycol ethers.
