N-Benzylidene-4-methoxyaniline is a chemical compound that has been shown to have antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. It also has antimycotic properties and can be used in the treatment of fungal infections, such as Candida albicans. N-Benzylidene-4-methoxyaniline is an aniline with a specific interaction with glutamate dehydrogenase, which catalyzes the decarboxylation of amino acids, including proline and histidine, and converts them into glutamate. The reaction mechanism is similar to that of oxone, which is an oxidizing agent that reacts with imines to form ketones or hydroxylamines.
