N,N'-(1,2-Dihydroxyethylene)bisacrylamide (HDEB) is a chemical substance that can be used for sample preparation in analytical chemistry. It has been shown to bind to urea and creatinine in urine samples. HDEB also binds to other substances such as amines, phenols, and sulfonamides. HDEB is used for crosslinking proteins when preparing biological samples for cell culture. This chemical is also used with malonic acid to measure the amount of acid in blood plasma or urine by using an acid analysis method. HDEB is primarily used in agarose gels to separate DNA fragments by size.
