Cyclohexyl methyl ether is a chemical that belongs to the group of diphenyl ethers. It has been used as a solvent and as a chemical intermediate in the synthesis of other compounds. Cyclohexyl methyl ether has shown anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. It also has shown an ability to inhibit hepatitis C virus (HCV) replication in recombinant cells and to inhibit HCV RNA production in cultured hepatocytes. This chemical may be useful for treating HCV infection, which infects more than 150 million people worldwide.
