3-Ethylbenzene-1,2-diol is a corrosion inhibitor that prevents the corrosion of metal surfaces. It is a white powder with an average particle diameter of about 1 micrometer and high melting point. 3-Ethylbenzene-1,2-diol has a low viscosity, high boiling point, and excellent thermal stability. It is mainly used as an additive in the production of polyester resins. 3-Ethylbenzene-1,2-diol has been found to have anti-inflammatory properties and can be used to treat dermatitis.
