Informazioni sul prodotto
5,5'-Di(4-biphenylyl)-2,2'-bithiophene (TPD) is a conjugated polymer that has been used in the fabrication of light emitting diodes and organic field effect transistors. TPD is a bilayered material composed of alternating donor and acceptor layers. The fluorescence properties of TPD are due to the presence of electron transitions from the donor to the acceptor layer. This fluorescence can be enhanced by adding an electron transporting material such as tetraphenyl butadiene to the acceptor layer. TPD has been shown to have a spontaneous emission rate of 10-6 second-1 with a lifetime of 100 nanoseconds. This compound also emits light when stimulated by ultraviolet light or an electric field, which makes it ideal for use in optical devices.
