Informazioni sul prodotto
Riluzole is a drug that has been approved for use in the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). This drug binds to glutamate receptors, blocking the entry of calcium into cells. Riluzole has also shown clinical relevance in treating bowel disease and autoimmune diseases such as Crohn’s disease. Riluzole blocks sodium-carbonate cation channels and can be used as an adjunct therapy for bone cancer. In animal models, riluzole has been shown to decrease the number of granule neurons and whole-cell recordings from these neurons. Riluzole also showed efficacy in preventing fetal bovine serum (FBS) and infant rat brain cell death caused by glutamate, which may be due to its ability to inhibit cation channels.
