Informazioni sul prodotto
Ethyl 4-amino-5-nitropicolinate is a potent antiviral drug that inhibits the replication of viruses. It binds to the viral nucleoprotein and prevents RNA synthesis, leading to cell death. This compound has been shown to be active against resistant strains of herpes virus and influenza virus. Ethyl 4-amino-5-nitropicolinate also inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines in asthmatic animal models. The mechanism of action has been determined using a medicinal chemistry approach with an animal model for asthma. The lead compound was found to inhibit the activation of NF-κB by inhibiting viral protein expression and blocking the synthesis of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandin E2 and nitric oxide.
