2-(3-Bromo-pyrazol-1-yl)-3-chloro-pyridine is a synthetic chemical that has been shown to be an effective cancer drug. This compound is able to inhibit the growth of cervical cancer cells in vitro by inducing apoptosis. The mechanism of action of 2-(3-Bromo-pyrazol-1-yl)-3-chloro-pyridine is not well understood, but it may involve inhibition of protein synthesis and DNA replication. This compound can also be used as a pesticide. It has been shown to be insecticidal against certain test organisms, although it was not lethal at concentrations below 100 ppm. 2-(3-Bromo-pyrazol-1-yl)-3-chloro-pyridine is synthesised by reacting chlorantraniliprole with anthranilic acid in the presence of potassium hydroxide as a catalyst.
