Bis(4-methylumbelliferyl)pyrophosphoric acid, disodium salt is a fluorogenic substrate that is commonly used in environmental testing, bioluminescence, and culture media. It reacts with an enzyme to produce light. The light produced by the reaction of bis(4-methylumbelliferyl)pyrophosphoric acid, disodium salt with the enzyme can be measured using a luminometer to measure the amount of light.
