Tris(trimethylsilyl)methane is a chemical compound that is stable and easily soluble in organic solvents. It is a tetrahedral molecule with three methyl groups on each carbon atom. Tris(trimethylsilyl)methane can be used as a stabilizer for carbanions in organic synthesis, and has been shown to be effective in the conversion of β-unsaturated ketones to their corresponding nucleophilic attack products. The compound can also be used to prepare polyatomic molecules by laser ablation.
