Dipyridin-2-ylmethane is a compound that has been studied for its anticancer activity. It is an organometallic compound with a nitrogen atom in the 2 position, which can be allylated by ethyl diazoacetate to form dipyridin-2-ylethane. This allylation reaction occurs at room temperature and is accelerated by heat. Dipyridin-2-ylmethane has also been shown to react with copper in an inorganic acid solution to form a copper complex.
