Decylcyclohexane is a compound that belongs to the group of polycarboxylic acids. It is a product of the degradation of plant oils and fats in the environment, and can be found in polluted water. Decylcyclohexane has been shown to be an effective antiviral agent against some RNA viruses such as human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV). In addition, it has also been used as a chemical intermediate in organic synthesis and as a component of petrol.
