Descrizione

(-)-Hinokinin is an alkaloid that has been shown to have genotoxic activity, hemolytic activity, and apoptosis-inducing activities in prostate cancer cells. It has also been shown to inhibit the growth of human colon cancer cells and is able to selectively induce apoptosis in leukemia cells. (-)-Hinokinin can be extracted from a variety of plants, including coffee beans, by acetate extraction. The chemical structures of (-)-hinokinin are similar to those of phenolic acids and chlorogenic acids found in coffee beans. This drug is metabolized by hydrolysis into chlorogenic acid and fatty acid.
