Informazioni sul prodotto
2-Methyl-5-(thien-2-yl)-3-furoic acid (MTFA) is a compound that can be found in the blood, urine and cerebrospinal fluid. It has been shown to have pharmacological activity, such as lowering blood pressure and inhibiting bladder contractions. MTFA has also been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth and may be useful for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The gene expression of MTFA is upregulated in activated muscle fibers and during acute muscle strain. This activation leads to increased synthesis of ATP, which increases the function of muscle cells. MTFA is synthesized from 2-methyl-5-(thien-2-yl) furoic acid by an unknown enzyme and is degraded by an unknown enzyme as well.
