This product is used for the synthesis of supramolecular and molecular complexes via its self-assembly properties. 4,4',4''-Nitrilotribenzonitrile is also used as a reagent in the synthesis of organic molecules. It has been shown to have a shift in fluorescence emission wavelength when exposed to light. The morphology of this product changes from spherical to linear when potassium carbonate was added.
