3'-Methoxyflavonol is a flavonoid derivative that has antioxidative properties. It can be found in the genus Quercus and also in the leaves of S. cerevisiae. 3'-Methoxyflavonol has been shown to have antiviral activity against Coxsackievirus B3 and inhibitory activities against coxsackievirus A9, C6, and E1. This compound is used as an inhibitor of growth for the genus Artemia, which is an invertebrate model organism. 3'-Methoxyflavonol also inhibits the replication of coxsackievirus B3 in cultures involving human erythrocytes (i.e., human cells).
