Descrizione:
1-(2-Chloro-6-nitrophenyl)methanamine is a potentiating agent that has been shown to potentiate the analgesic effects of clonidine. It has been shown to inhibit the binding of clonidine to 5-HT3 receptors and increase the potency of this drug. 1-(2-Chloro-6-nitrophenyl)methanamine also has antinociceptive effects in animal models, including tail flick and hot plate assays. This compound showed potentiating activity in adrenergic ligand binding assays, but did not affect any other ligands at tested concentrations. The effects on adrenergic receptors may be due to its ability to act as an antagonist or partial agonist.
