5,6,7,8-Tetrahydro-3-quinolinecarbonitrile (THC) is a chemical compound that inhibits the proliferation of human cells by binding to DNA and preventing the synthesis of RNA. THC is also a potent inhibitor of HIV replication in vitro. The product yield for this reaction is high and it can be recycled. The reaction time for this reaction is short and no reagents are needed. This catalytic system has been shown to inhibit HIV replication without cytotoxicity.
