Descrizione:GSK690693 is a small-molecule inhibitor of ATP binding cassette (ABC) transporters. This class of transporter proteins is responsible for transporting a variety of substrates, including chemotherapeutic drugs, into and out of cells. GSK690693 has been shown to inhibit the ABC transporter P-glycoprotein (Pgp), which is an important drug efflux pump that may be involved in resistance to chemotherapeutics such as vinca alkaloids, anthracyclines, taxanes, and many other anticancer agents. GSK690693 also inhibits the ABC transporter Bcrp1, which transports a number of drugs and xenobiotics out of cells. GSK690693 was shown to synergize with anticancer agents in vitro by increasing the sensitivity of cancer cells to these agents.
