Descrizione

Butylsuccinic anhydride is a chemical that can be used as a polymerization initiator and as a matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor. It has been shown to inhibit matrix metalloproteinase, which are enzymes that break down collagen in the extracellular matrix. Butylsuccinic anhydride has also been found to interact with hydroxyl groups on polymers, resulting in the formation of filamentous structures. This chemical can be used in the synthesis of polyesters and other polymers by ring-opening polymerization reactions. Butylsuccinic anhydride is synthesized from butyric acid and maleic anhydride.
