2,4-Diethyl-6-methylbenzene-1,3-diamine is a diamine that is used in the preparation of polyester resins. It is an isomeric mixture of two compounds with the same molecular formula. The diamine has a high degree of polymerization and low viscosity. It can be injected into a mold due to its particle size and high reactivity. 2,4-Diethyl-6-methylbenzene-1,3-diamine can also be used as an extender in paints or as a flexural additive in plastics. It also has applications in the manufacture of rigid polyesters for use in packaging materials and injection molded parts.
