2-Isobutoxynaphthalene is a fluorescent chemical that can be used as an indicator in the detection of amantadine. It is often used to determine the presence of chloride ions. 2-Isobutoxynaphthalene is soluble in acetonitrile, making it suitable for use in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The linear range of this chemical ranges from 0.2 to 3mg/L with a detection sensitivity of 1mg/L and a reaction time of 10 minutes. The derivatizing agent for 2-isobutoxynaphthalene is benzene, which can be hazardous if exposed to large amounts.
