2-Carbonoperoxoylbenzoic acid is an organic compound that is used as a hydrogen fluoride scavenger in the reaction solution. It can be synthesized by reacting carbon dioxide with peroxide to form 2-carbonoperoxoylbenzoic acid, which then reacts with hydrogen fluoride to form 2-carboxybenzaldehyde and hydrogen fluoride. The substance has been shown to have biological properties in vitro and in vivo, including a protective effect on the bowel disease induced by trinitrobenzenesulfonic acid. This compound also has antioxidant activity and can be used as a model system for skin cancer. In addition, it has been found that this substance can prevent syncytial virus infection by inhibiting viral protein synthesis. Finally, it has been shown to inhibit lipid peroxidation and increase the body's natural defences against oxidative stress.
