2-Hydroxysimazine is a medicinal compound that has been shown to act as an inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs), which are enzymes involved in the regulation of cell division. This compound has been studied extensively for its potential anticancer properties, as it has been shown to induce apoptosis in cancer cells. In Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells, 2-Hydroxysimazine causes a decrease in protein expression and inhibits tumor growth. Additionally, this compound has been found in urine samples from cancer patients, suggesting that it may have potential as a diagnostic tool for the early detection of cancer. 2-Hydroxysimazine is a promising analog of CDK inhibitors with the potential to be developed into an effective anticancer drug.
