Mcpa ethyl ester is a transport inhibitor that belongs to the group of agrochemicals. It inhibits the transport of organic solutes and ions across cell membranes, which in turn affects the cellular uptake of nutrients. Mcpa ethyl ester has been shown to cause fetal death in molluscs and is toxic for other phyla such as arthropods and annelids.
