1-Amino-2-naphthol is a chemical reagent that has been shown to be effective in wastewater treatment. It is used in the assays for potential biomarkers and can be used as an alternative to sulphanilic acid. 1-Amino-2-naphthol is also considered to be a reactive compound with a hydroxy group that can act as a nucleophile in the formation of amines.
