• Descrizione: Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 RA). It mimics the GLP-1 hormone, released in the gut in response to eating. Semaglutide can enhance insulin secretion and suppress glucagon section in a glucose-dependent manner. It also increases gastric emptying time and reduces intestinal motility. This combination leads to a decrease in appetite. Semaglutide has a long half-life allowing weekly subcutaneous application. Semaglutide also has positive effects on heart, liver, and lung function.
