Descrizione:Bone morphogenetic protein-2 is a secreted signaling protein that belongs to the transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β) superfamily. It has been shown to stimulate bone formation, inhibit bone resorption and stimulate cartilage production. BMP 2 is an activator of receptors for type I and II receptors for TGF-β. This peptide has also been shown to activate ion channels and inhibit ligands of receptor tyrosine kinases. BMP 2 binds to cell surface receptors and can be used as a research tool in the study of cell biology, pharmacology, and receptor function.
