Informazioni sul prodotto
Insulin is a hormone produced by beta cells in the pancreas. It regulates the uptake of glucose from the blood and its storage as glycogen or conversion to fatty acids for use. Insulin is also important for regulating protein synthesis and cell growth, but these effects are not well understood. The human insulin used in this product has been manufactured by recombinant DNA technology in a strain of Escherichia coli that has been modified to allow the production of insulin. Insulin is reconstituted from freeze-dried powder with sterile water before use. Additives such as pentose phosphate, desiccated bovine serum albumin, and glycine can be added to provide desired pH levels, osmolarity, and activity.br>br>Insulin is usually administered subcutaneously as an injection. Injections are given once or twice every day depending on various factors including age, type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus, weight loss, exercise habits, stress
