Descrizione:AZD3839 is a potent and selective inhibitor of the enzyme factor Xa. This drug has been shown to be effective in animal models of hypopigmentation and diseases related to muscle function. AZD3839 inhibits the activity of factor Xa by binding to the active site, preventing its proteolytic cleavage of factors Va and VIIIa. The inhibition of factor Xa prevents the production of thrombin, which is responsible for blood clotting. In humans, AZD3839 has been shown to have no effect on platelet aggregation or bleeding time. Clinical trials are ongoing to determine whether AZD3839 will be effective in treating human liver disease caused by antithrombotic drugs (e.g., warfarin).
