4-Phenylpyrimidine is an organic compound that has a molecular weight of 222.8 g/mol. The compound has a basic structure and is a nucleophilic molecule. It is structurally similar to 5-HT7 receptor agonists, such as eltoprazine. 4-Phenylpyrimidine has shown anti-inflammatory properties in animal studies, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines, such as TNF-α and IL-1β. This agent also shows affinity for the 5-HT1A receptor subtype and can be used for the treatment of diseases that are mediated by this receptor, such as depression and anxiety disorders.
