Ethyl 6-methoxy-3-methyl-1-benzofuran-2-carboxylate is a chemical pesticide that belongs to the group of ethyl acetate. It is a solid phase microextraction (SPME) extraction with ethanol as the solvent, which has been shown to have the optimum concentration for combating c. glabrata in vitro. Ethyl 6-methoxy-3-methyl-1-benzofuran-2-carboxylate has been shown to be an anti cancer compound and also has anti inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit IL10 production by T cells and protein synthesis.
It has been shown that this compound can induce antitumor responses in vivo and in vitro models, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the expression of proinflammatory cytokines such as IL10.
