O-glucopyranosylepiederagenin, 28- is a pentacyclic triterpenoid that belongs to the saponins group. It has been shown to have hemolytic activity and can be used for the treatment of acute respiratory tract infections. O-glucopyranosylepiederagenin, 28- has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth by acting as an inhibitor of protein synthesis and by binding to specific sites on bacterial ribosomes. This compound also has anti-inflammatory and anticancer activities.
