(E)-N-(3,4-Dihydroxyphenethyl)-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)acrylamide is an antiinflammatory agent that inhibits the production of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). It is a natural compound with no known side effects or drug interactions. As a result of its inhibitory effect on platelets, it can be used to prevent blood clots and strokes. This drug has also been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the release of dopamine and noradrenaline from nerve endings in the brain.
