PEG22 is a conjugate of polyethylene glycol and cycloalkenyl groups. It has been shown to have an absorption enhancer effect, which may be due to its biocompatible polymer nature. PEG22 has also been shown to have a pharmacokinetic profile that is similar to the parent drug, with a good bioavailability and distribution in the body. PEG22 has been shown to have cytotoxic activity against prostate cancer cells in vitro, but it has not been tested in vivo.
