Informazioni sul prodotto
4-Methyl-2-oxo-6-phenyl-1,2-dihydropyridine-3-carbonitrile is a phenylpyridone compound that has been shown to have antimicrobial activity. The active site of 4MMPDC is the carbon atom between the two phenyl groups. This carbon atom forms a covalent bond with the OH group, which makes up one of the phenyl groups. The other phenyl group is attached to an oxygen atom that is bonded to a hydrogen atom. The OH group also bonds with the methyl group on the other side of the molecule. This creates a tautomeric form in which there are two enantiomers of 4MMPDC: R and S. These two forms are interconvertible by equilibration and conformational changes. X-ray crystallography and functional theory have revealed that 4MMPDC has both hydroxyl and hydroxy groups in its structure,
