Informazioni sul prodotto
Deprenyl is a monoamine oxidase inhibitor that has been shown to have anti-aging and neuroprotective properties. It is also used for the treatment of Parkinson's disease, depression, and drug addiction. The drug is metabolized in the liver to produce active metabolites, mainly 4-hydroxy-deprenyl (4OH-DP) and 3-hydroxy-deprenyl (3OH-DP). Deprenyl hydrochloride is the most potent of these metabolites. It has been shown to be a reactive crosslinking agent that can bind to cellular proteins such as ferritin and nitrotyrosine residues on proteins, leading to oxidative damage that may contribute to aging or neurodegenerative diseases. Deprenyl hydrochloride appears to act on the brain by increasing levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), which inhibits neuronal activity.
