Informazioni sul prodotto
The chemical name for 2-methoxy-1-nitronaphthalene is 2-methoxy-1-nitrobenzene. It is a white solid, soluble in alcohol, ether and benzene, but not water. The molecular formula for this compound is C8H6O2N4 and the molecular weight is 174.17 g/mol. The chemical structure of 2-methoxy-1-nitronaphthalene contains a nitro group attached to a methoxy group. This protonated form of the molecule has an electron density at the proton position that can be observed by X-Ray crystallography. Protonation of this molecule results in a radical species that includes anions and radicals that are kinetically stable under normal conditions. Nitrosoarenes are also formed from the reaction of nitric acid with 2-methoxy-1-nitronaphthalene, which are also stable under normal conditions.
