cis-10-Heptadecenoic acid is a fatty acid with physiological effects. It has been shown to have significant interactions with human serum, and antimicrobial agents, such as coumarin derivatives. cis-10-Heptadecenoic acid has also been shown to be an effective treatment for herpes simplex virus (HSV) infections, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of proteins involved in the replication process. cis-10-Heptadecenoic acid can be found in ganoderma lucidum, a mushroom known for its healing properties, and is present in foods that are high in unsaturated fats.
