Topiramate-D12 Solution is a sulfamate and heparinized solution of topiramate, a medicine used to treat epilepsy. Topiramate blocks voltage-sensitive sodium channels and reduces the release of glutamate, which is an excitatory neurotransmitter in the brain. It is also used as an adjunctive therapy for partial seizures with or without secondary generalization in adults and children aged 2 years and older. Topiramate-D12 Solution is a bioequivalent drug product, meaning it contains the same active ingredients as the reference product (Topamax®) but may have different inactive ingredients. This product has been shown to be bioequivalent to the reference product based on statistical analysis of sample preparation, LC-MS/MS method, concomitant medicines, regulatory requirements, analyte validation, chromatographic methods and spectrometric methods.
