2-Aminoethyl dihydrogen phosphate is a metabolite of phosphoethanolamine and 2-aminoethanol, which are used in the treatment of maternal blood. It has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity in vitro, but its effects on living cells remain unclear. 2-Aminoethyl dihydrogen phosphate may be involved in energy metabolism and protein synthesis, as well as the activity of pharmacological agents that affect the neuronal death process. The compound also has an effect on Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) activation and ethanolamine levels. This compound is not toxic to mice at concentrations up to 5 mM, although it can cause renal toxicity at higher concentrations.
