4-Aminodiphenylsulfide is a hydrophobic chemical that binds to amines and has tuberculostatic activity. It also contains unsymmetrical functional groups and nucleophilic groups, which can be used in the development of new strategies for treating neurodegenerative diseases. 4-Aminodiphenylsulfide has been shown to bind to Bcl-2 family proteins and induce apoptosis through sulfoxide formation. This compound may have potential as a novel therapeutic agent for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, or Huntington's disease.
