(2R,3R,4S,5R)-5-(4-Amino-5-Iodo-2-Oxopyrimidin-1-Yl)-4-Fluoro-3-Hydroxyoxolan-2-Yl]Methyl (Hydroxyphosphonooxyphosphoryl) Hydrogen Phosphate is a potent inhibitor of serine proteases. It has been shown to inhibit the protease activity of vx950 and NS3 protease from hepatitis C virus type 1. The hydroxyl group in this compound can be replaced by other groups, such as an amino group or a phosphate group. This analog can be used to treat diseases caused by viruses such as herpes simplex virus and hepatitis.
